Matronas hoy, en su tercera etapa, es la publicación científica/divulgativa oficial de la Asociación Española de Matronas que pretende facilitar la posibilidad de publicación de los numerosos trabajos que, en la actualidad, realizan las matronas, al tiempo que sea una herramienta de formación continuada para todo el colectivo. Estos trabajos se enmarcan desde todas las perspectivas de la salud sexual y reproductiva de la mujer y del recién nacido, sobre cuidados, gestión, docencia e investigación, así como lo relacionado con la profesión de matrona en su historia, presente y futuro.

Instrucciones generales para la presentación de manuscritos

El manuscrito deberá realizarse utilizando el programa Word como procesador de textos y Excel o PowerPoint cuando se trate de gráficos y tablas (no se aceptarán si están en formato imagen).

Las tablas, cuadros y gráficos se enviarán en un fichero aparte del texto, cuyo número no excederá de seis en conjunto, debiendo estar numeradas y acotadas según su orden de aparición en el texto y conteniendo título, leyenda o pie de foto, según proceda.

La página del título tiene que contener: el título del trabajo, el cual ha de ser breve e informativo (no deberá superar las 15 palabras); el nombre y dos apellidos de cada autor/a; solo se indicará el grado académico más alto que se posea, así como la filiación institucional; se indicará también el nombre, la dirección postal y electrónica (e-mail) y el teléfono de contacto del autor/a responsable para posible correspondencia.

La bibliografía utilizada tendrá que aparecer señalizada de forma consecutiva, usando numeración arábiga, entre paréntesis. La forma de referenciarla será según las Normas de Vancouver: http://www.enfermeria21.com/wp-content/uploads/Vancouver-2012.pdf

Asimismo, en todos los manuscritos ha de constar si han existido ayudas económicas e indicar el organismo, la agencia, la institución o la empresa que haya financiado el trabajo, así como el número de proyecto, convenio o contrato. En caso de no contar con financiación externa se hará constar como “Financiación: ninguna”. Además, todos los trabajos que se envíen han de ir acompañados de una declaración de los posibles conflictos de intereses de cada una de las personas firmantes. Los conflictos de intereses pueden ser laborales, de investigación, económicos o morales. Si no hay ningún conflicto de intereses deberá hacerse constar como “Conflicto de intereses: ninguno”.

Normas para cada sección

Artículos originales

Descripción completa de una investigación básica o clínica que proporcione información suficiente para permitir una valoración crítica y rigurosa. La extensión máxima será de 12 páginas, conteniendo un máximo de seis tablas y seis figuras.

El resumen no superará las 250 palabras, estará estructurado en: Objetivos del estudio, Método, Resultados más destacados y las principales Conclusiones. Las palabras clave serán de cinco términos que definan el contenido del trabajo para su inclusión en las bases de datos nacionales e internacionales.
En la Metodología es necesario especificar el diseño, la población estudiada, los sistemas estadísticos y cualesquiera otros datos necesarios para la comprensión del trabajo.

Colaboraciones cortas

Se trata de artículos originales de menor entidad cuya extensión no supere las seis páginas, tres tablas y tres figuras.

Revisiones

Serán revisiones de publicaciones anteriores relacionadas con un tema de interés que contenga un análisis crítico que permita obtener conclusiones. Tendrán una extensión máxima de 12 páginas, diez figuras y seis tablas.

Documentos especiales

Informes, protocolos o documentos importantes para el colectivo.

Agenda

Noticias, cursos, convocatorias de reuniones y congresos, así como de premios y becas.

Aquí y ahora

Entrevistas a matronas en su lugar de trabajo. Sección ocasional.

Echando la vista atrás

Reportajes sobre hechos o acontecimientos reseñables en la profesión de las matronas.

Normas para el envío de trabajos

Idioma

Castellano.

Envío de originales

La preparación del manuscrito original tendrá que hacerse de acuerdo a las normas y requisitos de uniformidad del Comité Internacional de Directores de Revistas. Deberá incluirse siempre:

Carta de presentación

Será necesario hacer constar en la misma:

  • Tipo de artículo que se remite.
  • Declaración de que es un texto original y no se ha enviado o se encuentra en proceso de evaluación en otra revista.
  • Datos de contacto del autor/a principal: nombre completo, dirección postal y electrónica, teléfono e institución.
  • Si se tratase de estudios realizados en seres humanos, debe enunciarse el cumplimiento de las normas éticas del comité de investigación o de ensayos clínicos correspondiente y de la Declaración de Helsinki vigente.

Título

Se indicarán, en página independiente y en este orden, los siguientes datos: título del artículo en castellano, apellidos y nombre de todos los autores, separados entre sí por una coma (se aconseja que figure un máximo de seis autores). Mediante números arábigos, en superíndice, se relacionará a cada autor/a, si procede, con el nombre de la institución a la que pertenece y se reseñará una dirección de correo electrónico que desean hacer constar como contacto con Matronas hoy.

Resumen

Tendrá que ser comprensible por sí mismo sin contener citas bibliográficas. Será redactado obligatoriamente en los siguientes idiomas: español e inglés, respetando en todo caso la estructura del trabajo: introducción, objetivos, método, resultados, discusión y conclusiones.

Palabras clave

Ha de incluirse al final del resumen un máximo de cinco palabras clave que coincidirán con los descriptores del Medical Subjects Headings (meSH), accesible en la URL siguiente: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez/query.fcgi

Abreviaturas

Se incluirá un listado de las abreviaturas presentes en el trabajo con su correspondiente explicación.

Texto

De acuerdo a la estructura siguiente:

  • Introducción.
  • Objetivos.

  • Discusión.
  • Conclusiones.

Agradecimientos

En este apartado se citarán las ayudas de todo tipo recibidas, señalando la entidad o empresa o personas que las facilitó.

Bibliografía

Las referencias bibliográficas se ordenarán y numerarán por orden de aparición siguiendo las normas de Vancouver en su última versión.

Figuras y fotografías

Las imágenes han de ser enviadas en ficheros con alta resolución y formato JPEG (no sirven pegadas en el documento de Word). Si se utilizan fotografías de personas identificables, es necesario tener la autorización para su publicación. Si se presentan imágenes procedentes de libros, páginas web, etc., es preciso que comprobar los derechos de autor y conseguir la correspondiente autorización cuando sea precisa. Todas las figuras irán numeradas por orden de aparición en el texto, acompañadas de sus respectivas leyendas en un fichero de texto.
No se admiten ficheros de Power-Point ni similares.

Tablas

Todas las tablas irán debidamente numeradas por orden de aparición en el texto, acompañadas de su respectivo número y pie de foto en un fichero.

Envío de originales

Los trabajos se remitirán por vía electrónica a través de la dirección de correo: matronashoy@grupo-paradigma.com

Evaluación de originales
Los trabajos remitidos para publicación serán evaluados mediante el método de la doble revisión por pares.

Procedimiento editorial

Matronas hoy confirmará la recepción de los trabajos recibidos y, posteriormente, de la aceptación para su publicación o el rechazo de los mismos.
El Comité Editorial se reserva el derecho de rechazar aquellos trabajos que no considere apropiados.

Una vez haya sido aceptado el manuscrito, Matronas hoy se reserva el derecho a realizar cambios editoriales de estilo o introducir modificaciones para facilitar su claridad o comprensión, pudiendo modificar el título o el resumen, sin que ello conlleve cambios en su contenido intelectual.

Cada autor/res recibirá las pruebas del trabajo para su revisión, en formato PDF antes de la publicación, que deberá devolver corregidas en el plazo de tres días a Matronas hoy.

Publication Guidelines

“Matronas hoy”, on its third version, is the official scientific / informative publication by the Spanish Association of Midwives, intended to facilitate the potential publication of the great number of studies currently conducted by midwives, as well as to become a tool for the continuous training of the entire group. The approach of these articles includes all the perspectives of sexual and reproductive health of women and newborns, in terms of care, management, education and research, as well as everything associated with the midwife profession in history, its present and future.

General instructions for submitting manuscripts

The manuscript should be written using the Word program as word processor and Excel or PowerPoint in case of graphs and tables (image format is not accepted for these).

Tables, charts and graphs will be sent in a file separate from the text; these shall not exceed the number of six as a set and must be numbered and defined according to the order in which they appear in the text, including headline, key or caption, as relevant.

The title page must include: the title of the article, which must be brief and informative (it should not exceed 15 words), the name and two surnames of each author, only stating the higher academic degree held, as well as their institutional filiation. The following must also be included: name, mail and electronic (e-mail) address, and the contact telephone of the author responsible for the article, for any potential mail.

Likewise, all manuscripts must state any potential financial support, and the organization, agency, institution or company funding the study, as well as the number of project, agreement or contract. In case of no external funding, it must be stated as: “Funding: None”. Besides, all articles sent must include a statement with any potential conflict of interests by each one of the persons signing the article. Conflicts of interest can be occupational, of research, economic or moral. If there is no conflict of interests, this must be stated as “Conflict of Interests: None”.

Rules for each section

Original articles

The complete description of a basic or clinical research that provides enough information for a critical and rigorous assessment. The maximum length will be 12 pages, containing at most six tables and six figures.

The abstract cannot exceed 250 words and will be structured into: Objectives of the Study, Method, Outstanding Outcomes, and the main Conclusions. The key words will be five terms that define the article contents for its inclusion in national and international databases.

Under Methodology, it is necessary to specify the design, the population studies, the statistical systems, and any other data necessary for understanding the article.

Brief contributions

These are original lower-level articles, not exceeding six pages, three tables and three figures.

Reviews

These will be reviews of previous publications associated with a topic of interest, containing a critical analysis that allows to draw conclusions. Their maximum length will be of 12 pages, ten figures and six tables.

Special Documents

Reports, protocols, or documents which are important for the group.

Agenda

News, courses, announcement of meetings and congresses, as well as awards and grants.

Here and Now

Interviews with midwives in their working place. Occasional section.

Looking Back

Articles on noteworthy facts or events regarding the profession of midwives.

Language

Sending original articles

The original manuscript must be prepared according to the rules and uniform requirements by the International Committee of Journal Editors. The following must always be included:

Letter of Introduction:

This letter must state:

  • Type of article submitted.
  • Statement that it is an original text, and that it has not be sent or is under evaluation process by any other journal.
  • Contact details of the main author: full name, mail and electronic address, telephone and institution.
  • In the case of studies conducted on human beings, it must be stated that the ethical rules by the relevant research or clinical trial committee have been followed, as well as the current Declaration of Helsinki.

Title

The following details will be included, in a separate page and in this order: title of the article in Spanish, surnames and name of all the authors, separated by a comma (it is recommended to include six authors at most). Through Arabic numbers, each author will be linked in superscript with the name of their institution, if relevant, and an email address will be stated as the intended contact with “Matronas hoy”.

Abstract

This must be understandable in itself, without including any bibliographic references. It must be written in Spanish and in English, always following the article structure: introduction, objectives, method, results, discussion and conclusions.

Key words

Abbreviations

A list of all abbreviations used in the article must be included, with their own explanation.

Text

According to the following structure:

  • Introducción.

Acknowledgements

In this section, any type of support received will be included, as well as the entity, company or persons who provided them.

Bibliography

Bibliography references will be ordered and numbered according to the order in which they appear, following the Vancouver Rules on its latest version.

Figures and photographies

Images must be sent in files with high resolution and in JPEG format (they are useless if pasted on the Word document). If using photos of persons who can be identified, it is required to have their authorization for publication. If presenting images from books, web-pages, etc., their copyright must be confirmed, and the relevant authorization must be obtained when required. All figures will be numbered by the order in which they appear in the text, with their respective captions, in a text file.
No PowerPoint files or similar will be accepted.

Tables

All tables will be adequately numbered by the order in which they appear on the text, with their respective number and caption, in a file.

EVALUATION OF ORIGINAL ARTICLES
Any articles sent for publication will be assessed through the method of double review by peers. .

Editorial procedure

“Matronas hoy” will confirm reception of the articles received, and afterwards, their acceptance for publication or their rejection.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject those articles not considered appropriate.

Once the manuscript has been accepted, “Matronas hoy” reserves the right to make any editorial changes of style, or to conduct modifications in order to facilitate their clarity of understanding: there can be a modification in the title or the abstract, not entailing any changes in the intellectual contents.

Each author will receive the article proofs for review before publication, in PDF format; these must be sent back with any corrections to “Matronas hoy” within three days.
