Abstract

Cancer is a first order healthcare problem worldwide. In Spain it constitutes the cause of death of 80,000 people per year, and the object of numerous studies which have proven non conclusive.
Due to its nature, cancer can affect any part of the body, but this article focuses on the four malignant tumours which present the highest incidence. These are: colorectal, lung, breast and prostate.
The project consists of a bibliographic revision elaborated in order to offer a general vision on this disease and its main risk factors, including some keys on the matter of prevention.
