Abstract

the paper published below was presented by the authors in reference to the IX Pan-American Debate on Nursing Research.
The subject is approached from “Emerging paradigms: ecological and its derivates, complex thinking, and aesthetic as well as transcultural thinking. Evolution of the nursing knowledge, the approximation towards the science of nursing, operationalisation of the study object for research, academic teaching and care”.
To palliate the difficulties to organise such a wide and complex subject in a more comprehensive way, I chose to reflect on two issues: the first issue was on the nursing practise from an epistemological context of the notions objects of knowledge and paradigms of knowledge; the second issue is on the complexity of the object of the nursing knowledge, taking some problematic reflections for the purpose of discipline notion. The exposure is fundamented in the ideas of Edgar Morin, in his books and very especially in his proposal to the UNESCO in the seven categories of knowledge that education must emphasise for the training of formal beings that develop a comprehensive, contextualised and articulated thinking process.
