Abstract

The philosophy of Nature and Science is a central issue in any program of Philosophy. The aim of this subject is, on one hand, to study the perceptions that have existed on science throughout the history of occidental thinking and reasoning from Aristotle to the development of the theory of relativity and quantum mechanics.  The aim is to analyse the social and cultural factors that have enabled every historical moment to maintain a determined idea of the human being and nature.
On the other hand, our aim is to examine that way of understanding and managing nature, which  we have called science.
We will see how the scientific conception of the world in the modern day is developed, what the characteristics of the scientific thinking and reasoning process are, and the cultural and social factors that determine it. This will be achieved by orienting the Philosophy of Nature and Science towards the field of knowledge in the Nursing Discipline. It will also serve to learn how it is generated and help in the study of its epistemology and conceptual development.
In Module II, we approach Care, as an object for the knowledge of Nursing as a discipline within the context of Human Science. In the evaluation of this part of the subject, the students have to try and respond the following question: Is Nursing a science? The most important issue is not to answer the question but the reasoning that the student follows.
We present the work performed by a student of the Combined Plan.
