Abstract

The sun has beneficial effects but also damaging effects. This paper focuses on the damages effects caused by the sun. We, as future professionals, are worried about this problem as we believe that people are not aware of the damaging effects of the sun as because of this, people are unaware that excessive sun exposure can be a triggering factor to develop skin cancer. Exposure to sun light and, particularly to ultraviolet light, can cause alterations in the skin such as the so feared melanoma, that is the least but most serious skin cancer due to its high risk of metastasis.
Because of this, we have attempted to gather information on the habits and level of knowledge the population has concerning sun bathing and its possible unfavourable effects.
