Abstract

The performance of this Project of Community Intervention carried out with the Community Development methodology has been very interesting for us from a double perspective as students and as citizens of a city in the Comunidad de Valencia, a town called Massamagrell, Through it we learned keys to communicate with people, to make ourselves understood, to learn to listen actively to people to later reproduce their reflections, opinions and concerns, obtained from conversations or talks maintained with them.

At the beginning it looked rather complex but little by little, we began to design the project, visualizing the process to be followed, contemplating the different phases of the project. We began by interviewing the Mayer, the priest, the pharmacist. Subsequently we met with some of the neighbors at the local coffee shops or at their homes. As we talked and talked, it became easier, as through these talks, the people of Massamagrell talked about their problems, complains, and respective solutions. However, they all had agreed that immigration was a common problem.

We attempted to elaborate a project accordant with the needs observed by the neighbors of Massagrell and that can contribute to a substantial improvement of their quality of life.
