Abstract

Work exposes the schedule of a formative cycle in health preventive activities through the training and accreditation of professionals in the healthcare setting through the incorporation of a cross-cultural perspective and implementation of health preventive activities.

General objective: to acquire the sensibility towards heterogeneity of social and cultural logic thinking patterns that intervene in the activities of health promotion and prevention.

Contents of the cycle:

  1. Presentation
  2. Point of view of cross-cultural nursing
  3. Hegemonic biomedical model
  4. Analysis of a health intervention strategies model
  5. Design of preventive interventions in health from a cross-cultural perspective

Methodology: the education model is a hybrid, among constructive and cognitive theories, that favours a “change of attitude” and critical capacity. The objectives will be acquired by developing four learning fields: knowledge area, skill area, values area and aptitudes area. Different methods of learning/teaching will be combined significantly with flexibility and actively, by means of a guided discovery, vertical and horizontal transference and group learning. This core of information will be developed in four sessions, lasting 4 hours each on consecutive days.

Evaluation:

  • Learning evaluation.
  • Evaluation of the design and implementation of the formative cycle.
  • Evaluation of the teaching staff.
