Abstract

Currently, healthcare professionals must face daily several bioethical problems of a complex nature, resulting in most cases, from great advances that have taken place in recent years in the field of technology. This generates the need to develop such discipline and its implementation in the formal curriculum of healthcare professions with the aim of providing the necessary tools to resolve such conflicts with the required celerity, rigor, and safety. This paper approaches and analyses a real case where actions taken by healthcare professionals are analysed with the aim of examining whether or not such actions were in compliance with the basic principles of biomedical ethics: autonomy, welfare, non-damage, and justice.
