Abstract

This paper presents some thoughts on the clinical practicum from two perspectives. One, from the perspective of the teacher that guides and tutors such clinical practicum sessions by presenting what she or he wishes the students to learn and what a tutoring job is all about. And second, from the student´s perspective that is doing her first training in a clinical setting within the reality of a hospital.

The student, through its diary, shows how she is handling that experience, this first contact which puts to the test the knowledge she has previously gained, along with the difficulties that she finds and how she overcomes such difficulties.
