Abstract

The objective is to study the impact of the “hospital clown figure” on the anxiety level of a hospitalised paediatric patient and his or her parents in a paediatric and neonatal intensive care unit.
This will be a descriptive, longitudinal and experimental study.
It will include patients admitted to the Paediatric and Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Children’s Hospital in Jaen and their parents.
The FLACC, EAMH, STAIC-E Y STAI-E scales will be used to assess the level of anxiety of these patients, using in each case the scale that that best suits the profile of each subject based on his or her age.
The study will be conducted after obtaining the parent’s written patient information consent and the consent from all the professionals involved in the study.
