Abstract
This article deals with the theme of nursing training. I will be discussing some principles proposed for the transformation of education in general, and specifically in nursing. I will describe the competencies that are expected at present for the professional exercise of nursing as a career, with more specific reference to the practical competence relating to the so called professional nursing art. At a third stage, and with the objective of interpreting what society expects nowadays from nursing professionals, I will discuss the transformations currently practiced in the area of education, which result from the publication of RD 1393/2007 of 29th October (Official Governmental Gazette of 30th October 2007) establishing the legislation of official university studies in Spain. I will conclude exemplifying a proposal for a curricular-degree in Nursing as a draft analysis inducing reflection on this them.
