Abstract

Of all the losses we suffer throughout our lives, death is the one that arouses more fear, whether it is our own death or the death of a loved one. Even though from the moment we are born death is something indisputable and natural for all living things, for many humans it is something remote that we refuse to believe. All losses involve a change in the way we are and involve a personal growth linked to the capacity of each one of constructively managing losses in your life, whether they are environmental, property, religious, emotional ties, health or estrangement from loved ones.
When a child is terminally ill, it is necessary the intervention of a multidisciplinary team. The nurse has a key role as it becomes the intermediary between the child, the family and the health professionals.
