Abstract

General objective: to analyse the implantation of a teaching program for the use of an IT application and to assess the formative process of such application and its long-term results.
Material: the formative action, the objective of which was to expand the level of knowledge on the use of the computer program.
Method: through the use of self-administered questionnaires hand given to the students on two occasions.  First, immediately after the formative action with questions about the level of knowledge before and after the course, and then, through  a second questionnaire, composed of  8 questions with multiple choice answer measuring the changes (results) achieved six months after having completed the course.
Results: first assessment- level of knowledge the students had before the course- an average increase of 2 to 3 point increase was observed. Second assessment: 8% of the total people surveyed considered their level of knowledge to be inadequate. When classified by working ranks, no differences were found when the knowledge was applied between the nurses and the aides.
Conclusions: if competence is understood to be the application of knowledge in critical circumstances, generally speaking the students reached a reasonable level of competence.
