Resumen
El artículo que a continuación se presenta fue expuesto como conferencia en una Jornada de Enfermería en el Hospital de Móstoles.
Se trata de una reflexión que la autora propone, en la que se argumentan las diferencias que existen entre los aspectos cuidar y tratar, tema que ha sido abordado en repetidas ocasiones por otras enfermeras y también de la especificidad de la aportación de los profesionales enfermeros en cuanto al cuidado.
Cuidar es una actividad compleja, ya que el cuidado está dirigido hacia seres humanos que se caracterizan por la multiplicidad de aspectos que les configuran como tales y que son mucho más que los simplemente biológicos.
Dirigir la mirada hacia la globalidad o sólo tener en cuenta uno de los aspectos es lo que marca la diferencia.

Abstract:
The paper depicted below was presented as a lecture at a Nursing Seminar held at the Hospital de Móstoles.
The paper is based on the reflections proposed by the author where she discusses the differences that exist between the aspects of caring and treating, a subject that has been repeatedly addressed by other nurses and the specificity of the contribution made by nursing professionals to the standard of care.
The provision of care is a complex task, as the care provided to human beings is characterised by the multiple aspects that need to be brought into it and that extend beyond simple biological needs.
To look toward globality or to take into account just one of the aspects is what makes the difference.
