Resumen
¿Qué finalidad tiene esta lectura?
Para poder realizar un análisis, reflexión y crítica del sistema sanitario y de nuestras actuaciones como profesionales, necesitamos “cierta distancia”. Conseguir darnos cuenta de la realidad de nuestro sistema sanitario, de la realidad de nuestro país, de la realidad de las actividades profesionales, pasa por intentar entender que hay muchas realidades: la nuestra, la que nosotros percibimos, la que nos afecta, la que nos importa, etc., y que no siempre tiene relación con la realidad de las personas que acuden al sistema sanitario, la realidad de lo que ellos ven, de lo que les importa, de lo que les afecta, de lo que perciben… ¿Cómo podemos darnos cuenta? ¿Cómo podemos percibirlo? ¿Cómo podemos hacer la reflexión?
El Principito nos ofrece la posibilidad de relacionar un sinfín de elementos que podemos entretejer con nuestra realidad sanitaria. Contiene un lenguaje metafórico que nos puede servir para “detenernos” por un instante y “darnos cuenta” de que hay multitud de cosas que no vemos, que no oímos y que nos “perdemos”. Hay una gran riqueza en este “cuento” para relatar, expresar, sentir, que podemos utilizar para agrandar nuestros ojos, nuestros oídos y nuestro corazón, de manera que podamos volcarlo en nuestro enriquecimiento personal y profesional.

Abstract:
What is the aim of this reading?
In order for us to do an analysis, a reflection and a critic of the healthcare system and of our performance as healthcare professionals, we need to put some “distance”. For us to be aware of the reality of our healthcare system, of our country, and of the reality of our professional activities, we need to gain some understanding on the fact that there are many different realities: ours, the one we perceive, the reality that affects us, the one that matters to us… which is not always necessarily in line with the reality perceived by patients who come to the healthcare system, the reality of what they see, of what matters to them, of what affects them, of what they perceive…. How can we become more aware of their perceptions? How can we perceive the same things? How can we do this reflection?
“The Little Prince” provides us with the opportunity to give some thought on a number of elements that can be interwoven with the reality of our healthcare. It contains a metaphoric language that we can use to “stop” for a moment and “realise” that there are numberless things that we do not see, that we do not hear, and that we thus “miss out”. There is great richness in this story to tell, to express, to feel, and we should use this richness to open our eyes, to open our ears, to expand our horizon and our heart and ultimately enlighten our souls professionally and personally.
