Abstract
As Collière said, “providing care is and will always be indispensable, not only for the quality of life of the individuals, but also for the perpetuity of the entire social group”. It is this idea from which we aim to analyse “care”, as it has lately been undergoing modifications that can break social and cultural norms which were the usual norm up until now. There are people who devote their lives exclusively to providing care, accepting and “suffering”, more often than not, the role of carer, with no one becoming aware the enormous effort and personal deterioration that this involves for the carer, which degenerates into morbidity situations. The Law of Dependence was developed in an attempt to mitígate many of these situations and it embraces those individuals in need of continued care and their carer, whose work is now legally recognised.
