Abstract
One of the responsibilities of any Nursing service is prevention. In this particular case, we are referring to avoiding the development of an undesirable situation that can occur during or after donating blood: lipothemia or more commonly known as fainting.
This work covers, firstly, the physiopathological aspects of fainting and then proceeds to propose a care plan for this potential complication: fainting due to blood donation. Results criteria and interventions for which the NOC (Nursing Outcomes Classification) and NIC (Nursing Interventions Classification) taxonomies have been used are proposed.
