Abstract

Non professional care providers are the most importantsupport unit for many patients and they are high valuables for the health institutions. Care providers feel themselves overwhelmed by problems such as tiredness, fatigue, lack of social and familiar support, etc.

The experience of teaching care providers to able them to develop new skills that allow them to combine self - care with taking care of their significant others is presented.

Group techniques and operative group technique were used for the group intervention that was done for twelve non professional care providers.

Qualitative methodology was used to analyze the discourse of the group.

The intervention has been identified as a helpful to improve decision - making, to look at their roles in a more positive way,to minimize their problems and to find an space for self - care.
