Abstract
Purpose of the study: To identify the criteria needed for item selection inorder to develop an self administered questionnaire about nurses opinionon their own organization, duties and efficiency in community care.
Procedures: From the statements suggested by an expert group of nurses meet on purpose (Philips 66 discussion technique), a 72 items questionnaire was developed. The pilot study was done with a sample of47 nurses. Endorsing frequency of each item and test-retest concordance(Kappa) were analyzed.
Results: Forty-four (61,11%) from the 72 original items were selected andonly 26 of them meet two required criteria. Examples of accepted andrejected items are shown.
Conclusions: The stability and discrimination power of each item are the two criteria that should be evaluated in order to develop questionnairesto measure opinions.
