Abstract

A clinic experience is presented that has been carried out at the Hospital “General Yagüe” in Burgos, since 1996 to 1998, being the subject of this study the adult patient admitted at that time.

The aim of the experience was the observation of the influence that may have a simple method of relaxation (Nares’ method ofalternance) on the pain that patients perceive.

The results obtained suggest that using the relaxation method decrease the pain perception of most different patients that have been observed.

This observation might be useful to support the need to carry forward investigations in order to test the effectiveness of the relaxation techniques to decrease pain in certain population.
