Abstract

The objective of the study was to know the relationshipbetween the cancer palliative patient and the morphine,which is the first drug selected for the patients treatment ofmoderate and severe malignant pain.

The proposal of the study wasto extract from the patients andfamilies explanations the difficulties, expertness and believes intheir daily life with morphine and illness; the investigationteam chosen the qualitative methodology that allows to getcloser to a opened and faithful form of the patiens reality. Weanalized this reality thorough five fields: cognitive factors, dailypractice, culture factors and psycosocial factors.
