Abstract
The aim of this article is to present the application of tutorized self-learning through of reflection and research-action in the teachingprogramme for nurses specialising in Mental Health.
The general purpose of this programme is to prepare specialist nursesin Mental Health who through tutoring are able to acquire knowledge,skills and attitudes with respect to the diverse nursing activities in theMental Health field which will enable them to respond appropriatelywhen caring for individuals, families and groups by developing theability to reflect in action and on action.
The tutoring method consists of the elaboration of action procedures,the combination of various teaching strategies and the use of a diaryas a working tool, with the aim of assuring optimization of the tea-ching programme for nurse residents in the acute care unit.
