In the present article, experience is presented in the design and setting up of a register that allows an efficient collection of nursing care from the peri-operational period, taking into account that the nurses tend to place priority on patient care, and so elude detailed filling in of the register, as they often feel overloaded with administrative work.
The aim of the work is consists of creating a nursing register, which reflects in a coordinated way the observations and activities performed by the nurses in all units were the patient is attended in the peri-operative process, and which, at the same time, responds to the needs felt by the nurses who have to fill it out.
The process of filling out the register is performed in three stages: 1) Collection of data on the degree of completeness of existing registers; review and analysis of these registers, detection of problems and data classification. 2) Elaboration of a register with the data obtained and navigation with a total of 200 registers, evaluation of the degree of completeness; addition and elimination of parameters until the definitive register is achieved. 3) Presentation of the register in the commission for clinical documentation of the hospital and setting in operation after approval.
