Abstract

In the Curricular design of the nursing studies diploma, the clinical practicum instruction is essential to provide the students sufficient knowledge, skills and attitudes, to ensure the proper performance of their future professional carrier.

Through an inquiry among students at the university school of nursing in Soria, we have sought to assess their knowledge and attitude with which the students start their practicum instruction as well as the setting in which this instruction takes place.

This study shows that our students are getting to the clinical practicum stage of their studies with sufficient knowledge, but with a high degree of anxiety, which starts to decrease over time.

Concerning the evaluation of the clinical practicum curriculum, they disagree with the grading system, as they consider this system to be rather subjective.
