Abstract
Diabetic nephropathy is one of the complications of diabetes with a more negative impact on the quality live of these patients. This project serves as a guideline for nursing staff in the prevention of renal complications caused by diabetes, through premature detection of Microalbuminuria, a main indicator of renal malfunction. The protocol teaches the nurse the rules for the early detection of microalbuminuria. The interpretation of the results will result in the patient being referred to the corresponding medical unit or to a modification in the nursing plan followed.
