Abstract

The Project Research Nursing (PRN) methodology was used in 1865 patients and in 3208 care processes in order to determine the nursing duties, to describe the profile of a hospitalised patient, and to diagnose the processes that have an impact in the organisation of healthcare. The mean time of these methods per client and day was 3 hours and 39 minutes, with a very technical care profile. Basic care procedures make up a third of all the overall care provided and the nursing teams were adapted to the needs of each individual patient in a 91.6%. The application of the PRN has made it possible to obtain a description of the time and profile of the nursing care implemented in our hospital.
