Abstract

This article is intended to give some thought to the present need of making nursing care more humane, taking as baseline the values incorporated Humanism and that contributed to Modernity, providing new essential values that must be recovered as analysis and improvement tools in nursing care. Technological advances have been accompanied by a furthering of humanist values. This situation has also affected the practice of the nursing profession. The Humanization of care implies the relocation of the human being as the center of society, the urge to learn, the importance of theory and science, as well as the development of a conscience and critical attitude.
