Abstract

Ictus represents the second cause of mortality in our country (first, in the case of women) and must be considered a medical urgency that requires immediate attention and treatment, aimed at preserving the patient’s life and minimizing possible sequels derived from it. With this purpose in mind, Ictus Units were created as specialized units in the treatment of this pathology. This article focuses on thrombolysis, which constitutes one of the specific treatments developed in these units and the most effective one in treating patients suffering from ictus. However, it is not exempt of possible complications. We offer a protocol designed in our unit for nursing implementation in this specific therapy.
