Abstract

The term "quality" has become a frequently used word when speaking about health and healthcare. The need to provide a quality service starts at the very moment that such service is rendered. Knowing the degree of user satisfaction with the nursing services acquires a rather important role with a view to optimise future nursing services. This papers analyses the concept of healthcare quality and reflects upon how patient satisfaction is considered a valid determining factor for its evaluation, for as long as the multiple factors are evaluated. Likewise, as the objective is to evaluate the quality of the nursing service rendered, a definition of such term is offered.
