Abstract

The Turó Primary Care Centre in Barcelona has started a programme of group therapy as a therapeutic intervention in women presenting anxiety-depressive disorder and/or stress situations.
A nursing professional trained in mental health, group dynamics and seitai meditation has conducted the intervention. Once the initial sessions are completed, the intervention will be continued in a civic centre of the area. As a result of this experience, a decreased consumption of drugs as well as a decreased number in consultations, have been observed. A noticeable improvement in the quality of life of the group participants has also been noted.
