Abstract
The first part of this paper described the current operativisation of scientific nursing production that justified the need to propose a reasoning model to be used as a guide in the decision making process in the planning of care. Such model would permit to conjugate together the nursing model, language tools and scientific evidence.
Two key moments were identified in the taking of decisions to reach a clinical nursing judgement: the diagnostic judgement and the therapeutic judgement, addressing the potential benefit derived from the use of taxonomy of NOC results in this process. This second part thoroughly describes the utility of this tool in the entire nursing process, conjugating together model, taxonomies and scientific evidence. We present examples of possible algorithms for the making of decisions regarding diagnosis, arguing about the possible utility of the model proposed for the validation of related factors and the definitory characteristics of the diagnosis for the measurement of results and for the most appropriate selection of the interventions in the nursing treatment.
