Title:
The Kangaroo method as a Nursing intervention
Abstract:
The "Kangaroo" method is a technique based on skin contact that was developed in Colombia to respond to the need of maintaining the newborn's temperature as an alternative to incubators. Presently, this scientifically proven method is widely accepted worldwide and is recommended by the World Health Organitation. The aim of this paper, after having carried out a review of the literature, is to provide detailed information on the method and the benefits it provides, as support evidence to consider its utilisation as a nursing intervention to address different nursing diagnoses.
