Abstract

This study presents the case of an 86-year-old patient who underwent transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The high-support guidewire was accidentally removed from the left ventricle at the time of advancement of the non-retrievable prosthesis delivery system, making it necessary to resolve the situation in an unconventional manner: retrieving the delivery system via the antegrade route. The collaboration between the interdisciplinary team was one of the key aspects for the successful resolution of this infrequent complication, without any adverse effects for the patient. The most relevant aspects of the care plan carried out during the procedure are presented.
