It must be performed under sedation to reduce the discomfort and pain derived from the procedure, and to ensure immobilization of the patient in order to obtain good images. TEE is a complex test from which important decisions for the management of patients are derived, so adequate sedation is essential. Another important issue regarding any medical procedure is safety, and TEE, due to its characteristics, is not exempt from complications related to the procedure and to the use of sedation. In our department, the nurses are in charge of administering and monitoring the response to sedation during TEE, according to a consensual protocol and to the cardiologist‘s instructions. The entire process must be recorded in the patient‘s medical record. Our objective is to design and describe a care record for the patient undergoing this procedure at the Virgen del Rocío University Hospital in Seville that will be included in the electronic Medical Record and medical report. The result of our study is a structured registry that provides objective and clear information to contribute to the improvement of quality of care, safety of the process, transfer Versión en Español Título: Registro de enfermería para pacientes sometidos a ecocardiografía transesofágica Artículo completo no disponible en este idioma / Full article is not available in this language Bibliography
