Abstract

Nurses, as care workers, have always tried to respond to the needs that society has been giving us in order for us to provide help in healthcare-related situations.
Society is not static, it is always changing, it keeps developing, it transforms itself, introducing or disregarding from its environment elements, ways of life, that have a repercussion on the relationship between health and welfare. Elements capable of reaching the human beings that make up such society.
This article provides some reflection on how we have gotten to where we are right now, of how we will progress in the future, and on whether we will continue to be capable of responding to the great demands that society will place on us in a very near future.
