Abstract

In a globalised world as the one we live in today, inhabitants of unprivileged areas thrive to improve their quality of life, or even survival, and migrate to countries far away, both geographically and culturally from their native land, encountering great difficulties when they need to make use of necessary and vital services relating to healthcare.
The migration phenomenon represents a big challenge for the healthcare professionals of the host countries, as they need to find answer to the needs of the immigrants, which to a large extend, are unknown to these professionals.
This study has served as an approximation to this new situation, from the perspective of the professional world, from the perspective of students enrolled in a nursing school and from the analysis of the different plans and studies currently available.
