Abstract
The Self-Care Agency is a concept described by Orem in the General Theory of Self-Care. The construct of the self-care agency is defined within this theory, which has the characteristics that Morin identifies in the paradigm of complexity. The paper analyses the similarities that exist between self-care and the self-care agency and the classical concept of hermeneutics analyzed by Foucault. Lastly, from the perspective of a paradigm of complexity, the way in which the elements are conjugated, such as the self-care agency and its operative measurement, the practical-reflexive reasoning and the taxonomic nursing diagnoses, might appear to be contradictory at simple sight.
