Abstract

Becoming old is one of the aspirations of all human beings. Becoming old in good health is becoming a reality for an increasing number of individuals thanks to the scientific advances made and to the availability of healthcare resources. Becoming old, being healthy and happy with one self and with life, despite the difficulties encountered along the way, is something that some lucky people achieve.

The article drafts the circumstances surrounding old age, identifying some of the current difficulties encountered in that period of life and some of the keys to assume this last stage of our lives to our satisfaction.
