Abstract

A skin reservoir is a venous access system that presents several advantages. It is very useful to preserve peripheral venous routes, improving the patient´s quality of life.

The aim of this paper is to teach the nurse to manage a skin reservoir, to differentiate the problems that might arise and to take the corrective measures for their resolution.
