Abstract

Over the last 20 or 30 years, we have been witnessing a real epidemic outbreak of sexually transmitted diseases or STD. Because of this, the objective of this paper was to compile information on STD´s with the greatest impact on public health, with two of these requiring “Obligatory Declaration”.
The aetiology, clinical manifestation, transmission mechanism and magnitude have all been included in the development of each of these diseases. Worth pointing out is the epidemiological importance of STD´s given its repercussion on a wordwide scale and candida infection as the main reason for seeking gynecological medical advice.
Control and prevention measures have been addressed from an overall point of view for all STDs, paying special attention to the risk population (young adults, promiscuous individuals, prostitutes, etc.).
