Abstract

There are inequalities in the supply, use and access to health care. Some of these inequalities are more visible than others. Those that affect the physical infrastructure such as beds, hospitals, equipment can be easily measured with the help of information systems. Others are less visible both in the hidden nuances of the data and the lack of information.
This work is framed in an anthropological perspective in which the theory of cultural care diversity and universality of Madeline Leininger is the central axis.
A deeper study of culture and care offers a whole new perspective on the constant challenges that force us to stimulate creativity and reflection, because to offer care is also a way to help others to be independent and in order to know how to do it, it is necessary to discover their way of life and their theory about the world.
