Abstract

The danger of having any psychiatric disorder, specifically the ones discussed in this article, arise from a combination of personal and environmental risk factors, and the exposure to them can occur in many different environments, such as family, school or leisure time with peers, not to mention the influence of our developmental stage and/or maturation, and that the more risk factors are accumulated, the greater the chance of getting an eating disorder (ED) and/or anxiety disorders. The gender mandate impose on women’s social characteristics which are particularly risk inducing, so it is especially necessary to emphasize health education, considering that the information is not sufficient for prevention, but that it must be accompanied by training, change of attitude and behavior change accordingly.
