Abstract

Sexual behavior in adolescence has changed significantly over the last century, so sexual education is a necessity in our society to be able to provide young people the highest material and spiritual values. In order to develop strategic actions to ensure sexual and reproductive health of adolescents at risk, 30 adolescents who attended the preconceptional risk service of the Policlinico Universitario Josué País García (Santiago de Cuba), were randomly selected. We conducted an exploratory survey of knowledge that served as basis for the development of an enabling program, which was applied to two groups who met twice a week for 6 months to learn about the subjects in which they had shown interest and that were needed for their age group, related to sex relations and conception, contraception and sexually transmitted diseases. After three months the initial survey was applied again to assess their knowledge. Before the training, knowledge related to sexual health was inadequate but, according to the objectives set, the results achieved at the end were adequate in 100% of the sample (results were expressed in percentage).
