Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to give a brief description of the changes that have taken place in the subject of Maternal and Child care to be called now, in the Nursing Degree, Care for Children and Adolescents.
One of the European University features is the student personalized attention and flexibility so they can organize and harmonize the university studies with their professional and personal life. The Bologna Process really has only strengthened what is the workhorse of our daily work from the start of the Nursing Degree in this University: to shift from a biological point of view of care to a humanistic approach where people are the center of attention and care is the core of the nursing profession. This might sound easy, but we know it isn’t, and further work is needed in this area because the biomedical model still has a lot of weight and influence in clinical practice. One of the elements that have facilitated the process of changing to the Bologna Process has been the training of teachers in three main areas: self training, internal training and training in the Department of Nursing.
