Abstract

Pyoderma gangrenosum is a non-infectious neutrophilic dermatosis, a rare and painful, often concomitant with a systemic disease (inflammatory bowel conditions such as ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease, blood disorders or rheumatoid conditions), and can be difficult to recognize. The diagnosis is based on typical clinical features and by ruling out other ulcerative skin diseases. Generally, it is more common in the lower extremities. Pyoderma gangrenosum is a complex problem and requires an individualized care plan.
This article describes the case report of a woman of 81 years of age who presented ulcers associated with pyoderma gangrenosum. We developed a nursing care plan, including outcome criteria and nursing interventions.
This article demonstrates the development and effective management of the multidisciplinary team for a case of pyoderma gangrenosum.
