Abstract

After being in contact for three months with the health system, the education system and nursing profession in Copenhagen (Denmark) while performing community practices, we show how to become a nurse in that country, how the health system works, as well as cultural and demographic information. We also present the health status and perceived health of older people in the Danish society and the various options the state offers to elderly to provide the highest possible care, either through specific care or leisure activities.
