Abstract

After our residence training period in mental health nursing at the Therapeutic Community in the Mental Health Area II, Málaga, Spain, we report our learning experience regarding the multiple benefits of patients\' involvement in a Gardening Workshop. Such benefits can be classed as follows: intellectual, professional, social, emotional, and physical development.
A main feature of the Therapeutic Community is the high amount of available programs and workshops. Such workshops are intended to solve some deficiencies found in patients regarding relationships, communication, and acquisition of tools allowing them to carry out basic and operational everyday life activities, which will help patient\'s return to normality and social reintegration.
