Una experiencia de cuidado desde la teoría del caos

Resumen

Enfrentarse al cáncer te sitúa en un instante frente a la fragilidad de la vida. Este trabajo recoge mi experiencia personal ante esa, a veces no nombrada enfermedad. El enfrentarse a ella es cuando se pone de manifiesto la verdadera potencialidad del ser humano. La complejidad estructural del cuidado radica en su naturaleza humana y social y en la relación dialógica y de interacción recíproca entre el cuidador y la persona cuidada. Recorrí el camino junto a “mis enfermeras” ellas me enseñaron la sutileza de los cuidados, posteriormente, mis alumnos me ayudaron a convivir con las incertidumbres de los tratamientos y mi experiencia les ayudó a crecer como personas y futuros enfermeros.

An experience of care based on the chaos theory

Abstract:

Facing cancer is a traumatic experience that in a split second reminds us of the fragility of life. This paper is a compilation of my personal experience with cancer, a disease not referred to by its name in many instances. It is only when faced with cancer that the true potentiality of man is exposed. The structural complexity of the care involved lies in its natural and social nature as well as in the dialogic and reciprocal interaction between the care taker and the person that is being cared for. I walked that road led by the hand of my nurses who taught the subtleness of the care they provided. Then, later on, my pupils walked alongside me and helped me to come to terms with the uncertainties of the treatments, and my experience helped them grow as individuals and future nursing professionals.
