Abstract

Rationale: the development of group interventions with caregivers requires us to assess their impact both on the perceived quality of life, as in the impact on family functioning.
Objectives:
- To demonstrate that group interventions (workshops) with family caregivers:
- Improve their quality of life perception.
- Provide tools to implement changes in the family environment, improving the support systems for the primary caregiver.
- To perform a comparison with caregivers, who have not yet had group intervention. To understand the perception of certain professions.

Material and methods: a qualitative study intended to capture the phenomenon of study in a holistic manner, understanding it within its context: "the experience of family caregivers". The techniques selected for this study are the focus group and in depth interviews.
Results: the perceived level of burden on caregivers who have participated in workshops decreases and is maintained after 2 years of the intervention.
The perception of quality of life improves, and its comparison with the group of caregivers had no intervention group is significant. Improved support systems in some families for the benefit of the primary caregiver.
We know the perception of professionals regarding family care and its impact on the caregiver.
Definitive figures will be submitted on the complete work, once the discourse analysis is completed.
Conclusions: it is necessary to evaluate interventions to confirm that they meet the objectives pursued and have reliable evidence to bring about changes in the use of a tool such as the intervention group and validated in the care of certain groups, in this case family caregivers for their effectiveness and efficiency.
