A list of minimally required topics for a program has been developed, along with methods to implement such a program. Targeted participants have been specifically considered, with instructor-dummy (CPR learning technique) being the most used and accepted method showing positive results. Methods: The work was based on a comprehensive literature search and data extraction. The following databases were used: Cochrane, Embase, Teseo, Cuiden, Pubmed, and Ibecs. Searches were restricted to English and Spanish languages and to the last five years, with a few exceptions for particularly relevant documents. Searches were supplemented through the "snowball" method to track references in articles. Results: According to the studies being reviewed, only 15% of out-of-hospital CPRs are carried out by bystanders. On the other hand, such figures may be substantially increased through population health education. Conclusions: Community nurses play a very important role at schools as health educators, both by promoting a healthy lifestyle and by preventing accidents and resulting sequelae.
